A Charlottesville jury has found Unite the Right attendee James Alex Fields guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Heather Heyer as well as five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding, and one hit and run. “After deliberating seven hours, the jury found that Fields deliberately rammed his car into the crowd after the rally, which was organized in part to protest the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee,” reports NBC News. Fields, “who a former teacher said was fascinated by Nazism and Hitler,” may face life in prison. Thoughts?
