Castle Records Drops Dream Machine For Hipster Racism

You can’t keep racist hipsters down.

Heat Street reports:

A record label has dropped the band Dream Machine after two of its members were caught expressing “ugly opinions” about political correctness, safe spaces, feminism and immigration. … Castle Face Records criticized comments that musician couple Doris and Matthew Melton made during an interview with the French publication Still in Rock.

“We’re horrified and ashamed by this, and we appreciate people being upset but respectful in letting us know how they felt about it,” the record label posted on Facebook.

Hipster Racists In Love

Still In Rock asked about an apparent controversy at the SXSW Festival where foreign bands were told they would be deported if they played shows that that were not on the schedule. Band member Matthew Melton responded with pure hate speech, suggesting “playing a big festival in the United States of America is a great opportunity and a privilege and it’s understandable why they wouldn’t want international acts diluting their draw by playing unauthorized shows. That’s part of what they agree to to be able to come and play in the first place so if they break the rules then I see deportation as a fair and just consequence. It’s just a threat anyways, instead of throwing a temper tantrum and acting as if they are entitled to come to the United States and do exactly as they please, they should just be cool about it and play unauthorized shows anyway.”

Mind you, the controversy wasn’t that Melton encouraged foreigners to break US immigration laws and engage in unauthorized employment, it was that he didn’t criticize the Immigration and Customs Enforcement for suggesting they will enforce the law. Melton’s wife and Dream Machine singer Doris Melton, herself a legal immigrant from Bosnia, passed on the opportunity to correct her husband, instead doubling down on the xenophobia:

I agree with Matthew on that. ICE is just doing their job, and I’m glad they’re finally starting to work on deporting criminal illegal aliens too. It took ages for me to get my green card here legally and because there’s so many illegals coming in they make it hard for the people who do want to become part of American society the right way. They’re handing out free money to people who come here illegally, but when you want to work hard to become an American citizen to start a family they make it so hard on you, and expensive!

Doris then proceeded to trash feminist influence in music and even criticize “safe spaces.”

Something that pisses me off about the music world is that girls have mostly become lazy jellyfish and are starting these horrible feminist bands just to try and ”show men what they got”. The safe space mentality has made them weak. They don’t even know how to play their instruments! They’ll make songs about being ”sexually assaulted” or about how ”empowering” abortions are or some shit and it’s fucking retarded, they’re embarrassing themselves. If men did that they would be crucified! You see the longing for a gender supremacy under the guise of “equal rights”. What happened to the incredible female singers from back in the day with real talent, singing about finding true love and wanting to be a good woman?

You can give a piece of your mind to Dream Machine by not buying their album, The Illusion, here:

Dream Machine

Amusingly, Dream Machine tunes their instruments to A=432hz because of a complicated conspiracy theory involving Hitler and a lot of sciencey-sounding woo-woo, but literally avoiding “Hitler’s Frequency” isn’t enough to save them from the SJW Steel Fist in the Purple Velvet Glove.

This music is powerful and disturbing. I understand why people like it : it kind of empowers you and make you go out of your mind.

    Great finding.
All the smart people in the video above have rediscovered the Pythagorean tunning, or as Pythadoras put it “the musical harmonies of the cosmos” (cosmos meaning order and being the opposite of chaos).
“…And everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.”
Roger Waters, Pink Floyd Eclipse – Dark Side of the Moon (what a great album !)
LA 440 is ugly stuff, it’s the note you hear from phones.
May the way out of the mess be a return to tradition ? I’m more and more convinced of this as each day passes.
Anyway, I’m gonna listen to Dream Machine.

      @A Zobbo

It’s not A=440 vs. A=432 – that is rather arbitrary and a lot of what they claim is just an artifact of a base 10 numbering system.

The real tuning issue is even temperament vs just intonation. Octaves are a doubling of frequency, hence, A1=440, A2, an octave higher, is 880. We perceive these as the “same note” but “higher.”

But the relationship between the tonic (first) note and the fifth is 3:2, a “perfect fifth.” We tend to use 8 notes in a scale, but 12 notes total between the octaves. (Western music tends to have this 8/12 system.)

If you create equal distance between each of the 12 notes between the octave (A1 and A2) you aren’t getting the exact 3:2 ratio for the fifth, nor the perfect fourth (4:3). But if you tune to perfect fifths and fourths, the thirds sound off and the more complex chords sound even worse. This has a lot to do with folk music’s “blue note” which tends to bend the third up and down a bit depending on the context – blues type music all but relies on this ambiguity.

James OMeara’s article linked below goes into this a little bit, and here’s the wiki/infogalactic page:

Also for guitars there are physical issues as well, fixed with this system, True Temperament Fretting:

        I get your point HR.
I was reffering to Pythagorean tunning of perfect fifhs that considers thirds (M and m) to be dissonances.
But the difference between A440 and the perfect A432 is another matter that has to do with absolute ear (do you say that ?)
A difference hardly perceptible, still A440 sounds wrong.
That’s why I was happy to discover scientific studies that proves this 8khz difference in tunning was having an effect on the brain.
Don’t want to appear like a wierdo but I strongly believe without being able to prove it that music and rhythms have an effect on cells and living creatures to the point it can induce behaviors.
I’ll try to get back on this a little later.

Hi James, I ‘ll read your article with great interrest later today.
No, Pythagoras has nothing to do with tradition (in the classical, traditional sense) but with primordial (?) tradition.

That was a fascinating read, Sir.
      I realise my mistake.
But can we say Pythagoras was heading in the right direction until he removed the comma to close the circle – in order to fall back on his feet (and on the octave) ?
Hadn’t he done so he may have created a system resembling the traditional Chinese one (or Parches), or am I once again completely wrong ?
      Excuse my English.

      @James O’meara

I believe the hype for Wagner in alt-right circles is similar to the revival of paganism (don’t konw in English but in French a derogatory term), or to the use of nazi paraphanelia :
the appropriation of symbols by people hurt by modernity but who don’t understand them fully : decorum, tokens of recognition – I like Wagner, I’m in.

Music is a powerful initiatic tool that can be very dangerous.
One can see the damages the introduction of African rhythmic principles have done in Europeans countries.
Don’t get me wrong, their mixing with traditional Western music have given excellent results.
It has introduced the ‘trot’ (hopping) while European music only knew two paces, walk and gallup (we could add skating in the form of the waltz but I think you get the point).
Can one denies jazz, rock, funk, carabean or south american music sound bad ?
(Nor can one deny their lascivious, sexually explicit, ‘naturalistic’ potential. Don’t get me wrong, no bigotry or puritanism in what I am saying, some European traditional dances are as sensually charged, but to each his own).
No, they all sound good, too good, just like I suppose, a shot of opiates makes you feel good. Or like porn arouses a normal red blooded male.
And similarly, those musics make one originally forein to those rhythms go out of its mind. Their are character and soul destroyers.
In that sense, music, as we know it, is a undeniably a tool of modernity, it has greatly helped to introduce in our societies many of the curses we face.
      Sex & Drugs & Rock n Roll, innit ?

Now I have listened to Oedipus, Windsong and extracts of Delusion of a Fury.
Fascinating approach but I affirm Partch’s music is a dead end. It doesn’t appeal to the European (Caucasian, Aryan or whatever you care to call it) soul.
Probably because the guy has been impregnated at an early age with Chinese Lullabies and for this very reason his music DOES sound Chinese.
It would be interesting to hear what Chinese people have to say about his music, if they can relate to it, if it speaks to them because it doesn’t to me (much less than Bach’s Brandeburg concertos for example).
Harsh words but I am in a similar dead end as I have been “perverted” by being introduced a few years ago to the Arabic tonal system.
Made me realize the limitations of the Western ET, probably just like Chinese music did for Partch.
I wish I hadn’t because I’m now at a complete loss with the feeling of walking on thin ice.

Interesting Ryan Dawson interview: “Ryan Dawson returns to Our Interesting Times to discuss his latest documentary “Trump’s Zionist Ball & Chain: The Devils of Real Estate.” We discuss the influence of the Kushner family in the Trump Administration and how a Zionist criminal cabal has used various agencies like the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to enrich itself and suborn the US government on behalf of a foreign power.”
