MTV Says Your Halloween Costume Is Racist

Racist Asian Kid In White Face

Racist Asian Kid In White Face

MTV hasn’t been culturally relevant for a decade, so in a rather transparent attempt to get back in the game, they have gone full “Social Justice Warrior.” As if their “white privilege documentary” wasn’t enough, now they have made a commercial explaining that Halloween costumes are racist.

If This Isn't Cultural Appropriation, What Is?

If This Isn’t Cultural Appropriation, What Is?

Considering MTV pocketed billions of dollars promoting “ghetto black” stereotypes over the years, it’s hard to take their new found outrage seriously. Let’s not even get started on how much money they have made from the objectification of women.

So now we have a commercial of Diverse Non-Whites lecturing White people about their Halloween costumes.

Go ahead, it’s okay to laugh, it’s funny. Just remember they really do hate us.

My favorite is the one where an Asian woman says “there was a time when I would be shot” for wearing a Confederate soldier outfit.

I mean, what sort of drugs do you have to be on to make up something like that? In what possible context could anyone believe that is actually true – or even makes any sense?

I assume she means on a Civil War battlefield – fighting to the last man to keep them naggers in chains!

Or when the black guy says he hopes you get into a car accident and have to be rescued by a black paramedic if you wear a Confederate costume for Halloween.

The irony of that is under Confederate culture blacks and whites lived and worked in close proximity – far more so than in the north.

But again, facts aren’t important here – the message is emotional. This is the equivalent of high school girls bullying a new girl in class.

A little-known fact is that thousands of free blacks actually owned slaves in the South, especially in New Orleans. This information has been gleaned from antebellum census data. There was even a small minority of blacks or mulattoes who were so successful in business that they were in the top echelons of southern society in terms of wealth. One of these men, a freed slave named April, took the name William Ellison, in honor of his former master:

Slaves also rarely did jobs that were very dangerous. They hired Whites for that. Why? Slaves were considered valuable property and if they got killed or injured it could be a large financial loss. On the other hand, if a hired White got killed or injured it didn’t cost them anything.
